Yes yes yes, I hear you! I’m sure this post shall be the most long-awaited post by far because Day 3 was the day I got officially engaged! Let me touch upon the miscellaneous events quickly and hurry into the proposal part shall we? 😉
So we started out having to fill out tummies with food first. But it was a bad decision to head to Mongkok for food because the sight of restaurants/cafes/eateries is so damn rare!
We were running late for our main event of the day – Disneyland, so we decided to settle with this noodle shop which was located just next to the Mongkok MTR underground pass.
I add lots of chilli oil because it wasn’t even spicy at all even though I opted for spicy flavour! 🙁
After satisfying our hunger, we hurriedly proceeded to Disneyland!
We took the MTR from Mongkok station to Lai King station (red line), changed to the orange line and alighted at Sunny Bay station, and then to the pink line straight to Disneyland Resort station! 🙂 It is pretty easy to navigate except that you will need to change a couple of trains here and there.
At this point of time, the fiancé did not show any signs of intending to propose. He was behaving normally because I think it was too early at that point of time and honestly, I did not suspect a thing! All we wanted was to quickly reach our destination 😀
After about 10 to 15mins’ ride, we have finally reached Disneyland!!!
Our tickets to the wonder world of Disneyland!!! 😀
There was a Taiwanese school band performing at the entrance which I felt rather bad for them, having to tolerate while performing under the scorching sun.
There were cute snacks in the form of Disney cartoon characters but goodness, they were pricey!
The sun was merciless that day and it was difficult for me, especially with contact lens, to open my eyes properly and pose for the cam!
Our first ride! 🙂
Not long after, there was a day performance by all the cartoon characters in mascots! A real beautiful sight! The kid in me hurriedly down to catch a good spot to view 🙂
I shan’t bore with you loads of pictures, so here are a couple of some snapshots I took 🙂
The day performance lasted for approx. 15 to 20 minutes. After which, we proceeded to our next ride – Astro Blasters!
And how can anyone ever miss out taking the carousel!
Since Winnie the Pooh ride was just beside, we decided it give it a try too! 😀
Time always flies by when you are having fun and soon it was dusk.
I managed to capture some beautiful pictures of dusk like these:
Tell me how not to fall in love with this place already?
The breathtaking psychedelic lighting really left us speechless. It was one of the most wonderful and beautiful sight I have ever seen 🙂 <3
Each ride has their lights lit up 😉
And the last ride we took (before the proposal!) was at ‘It’s a Small World’.
Don’t wish to bore you with loads of pictures but here are just some of the mesmerising lighted fixtures. Psst, at this point of time, the fiancé (then bf) was urging me to conserve my camera’s battery life because it was dying….(actually he wanted to use my camera during the proposal which he told me after that! LOL!)
It was kinda difficult to capture a clear shot as we were on a moving ride. The same goes for other rides as well 🙁
After our last ride, we shopped around while waiting for the fireworks (and the proposal which I had no inkling about…) 😀
My camera battery died after this 🙁 so the rest of the pictures below were taken by my iPhone 6 camera.
There was also a night performance by the various Disney cartoon characters and once again, our childhood was re-lived.
We then proceeded to the main area of Disneyland park and the sneaky fiancé told me to wait outside Cityhall area (which I posted at the start of this blog post…) because he said we would be able to catch the fireworks with a clearer view there.
The silly me thought that wow, he had it all sorted out because he actually did his homework and researched which spot would actually provide the best view of the fireworks…I was totally clueless and had no idea why I was so silly to actually believe him…although I guessed it was a good thing anyway. While waiting for the fireworks performance, he suddenly told me he wasn’t feeling well and when I grabbed his hands, his hands were ICY COLD! HAHAHAHA!
But because I still had no idea at that time, I was shocked and very worried because his hands never felt this cold before and the weather wasn’t even chilling at all! :O
Then he told me that the fireworks was going to start and he brought me to somewhere nearby the hut which we took with Mickey and Minnie earlier on in the afternoon. I was like ehhh, okay. There was no seats so we sat by the handle railing.
At this point, I saw a staff approaching and carrying a bag of stuff. I did not suspect much until I realised she kept looking at me….I was like hmm…
Shortly, the fiancé i told me he was going to ask the staff if the fireworks performance was gonna start soon but he took some time…at this point of time, I tried hard not to look at them. Then the fiancé suddenly took my arm and directed me to the hut, with the staff following us. He asked the staff to snap a picture of us (I already sensed something fishy) and immediately after that, he started to kneel down and propose…!!!
Before I was proposed to, I actually had the privilege of friends sharing their proposal with me and how they all turned to deaf ears and couldn’t hear a thing their fiancés said, and how their mind went blank and just couldn’t focus properly…Initially, I was like wtf, how could you not hear a thing at such an important and unforgettable event?!
But thing is, IT HAPPENED THE SAME TO ME AS WELL.
I could not really hear what the fiancé was saying except for some few words…which the fiancé later admitted he actually cut short his proposal speech because he couldn’t remember all his lines…HAHAHAHA!
My mind went quite blank and all I recalled was to nod my head and handed my hand to him. He put on the ring for me and the staff was standing there the whole time waiting for us to finish. She snapped another picture for us after that as well.
There were many onlookers and we were quite embarrassed, even more so for him, HAHAHA!
We were actually quite upset because the fiance actually told her to video down and snap pictures throughout the proposal session. But she failed to record anything down and 1 of the pictures, which is the MOST important one, was blur. I’d like to think that she is not a multi-tasker….and perhaps even more excited than we were?
Sad case, right? :'(
We hurriedly left the hut because we are quite paiseh lah and we waited for the fireworks performance to start thereafter.
After a tiring day but yet eventful and emotional day at Disneyland, we proceeded to end our night at Temple Street for some shopping!
A very posey picture of a just-engaged girl, HAHAHA!
Anyway, in conjunction with our proposal, Disney was very kind to present us this little certificate 🙂
I had the sweetest dream that night, no doubt <3
Thank you my love for planning and plucking the courage to propose in public and thank you even more for wanting to spend the rest of your life with me 🙂
I love you! 🙂
