Thoughtful Tuesdays : Goodbye 2015, Hello 2016

Well, this is gonna be the LAST Thoughtful Tuesday for this year.

As we draw nearer to the new year, it seems like it is mandatory to recap and recount significant events that have happened thus far in the year 2015!

On the whole, I must say 2015 was not the best year in my life, but then again, it may not be fair to compare as such. This is especially since more and more commitments are coming up as well as more burdens, worries, liabilities….well you get the gist.

But in terms of health, it wasn’t as bad as year 2012 where I fell sick quite often then. So I am very thankful of that and keeping my fingers crossed that there will be lesser health problems in years to come ๐Ÿ™‚

In relation to the affairs of the heart, 2015 was where we reached our 7th year together. As the saying goes, “7 years of itch”. Whether it is true or not, it really is up to individual’s belief. For us, I felt there were some itch here and there but I guess as time goes by, with more joint commitments, it seems to haveย subsided some how. Of course, not totally since no one couple is perfect and able to live harmoniously without any conflict. But we find ourselves making up and forgiving quicker and more easily now. We try to avoid narrow-mindedness and to avoid viewing things myopically. We strive be forward-looking ๐Ÿ™‚

As at now, it is a tough period for us because of our upcoming wedding and house renovation matters. With 2 such HUGE commitments nearing, our stress levels have been increasing no doubt. Not to mention, our unavoidable financial commitments as well. I must admit it has not been easy for us but I do feel that we are learning as much as possible through these wedding preparations and house renovation matters. I won’t really say that we are enjoying per se,ย but whatever it is, I am trying to be positive here ๐Ÿ™‚

Work-wise, since forced by circumstances and thus unable to divulge much, I will keep it short and simple then. Stress will always be there, especially for my type of job. Through working, the experience has indeed opened up my eyes wide to several aspects including interpersonal matters, the workings of a management of a company and gaining further and deeper valuable insights into my kind of job scope.

2015 was also the year the fiance proposed during our Hong Kong trip in August ๐Ÿ™‚ There were no fancy restaurants nor a 9999 bouquet of roses, but I am certainly touched by his very sweet gesture of plucking his utmost courage to kneel down with the ring in one hand, in front of what seemed like a million eyes looking… and what’s more at DISNEYLAND!!! Thanks Love! ๐Ÿ˜€

Apart from that, our long-awaited BTO flat was completed in October this year too and we collected our keys to our love nest ๐Ÿ™‚ We are still in the midst of finalising some last bit with our Interior Designer, and once everything is finalised and done, we can start renovating away! It will be anytime soon, totally can’t wait! ๐Ÿ˜€ On the same note, I will also be blogging about my ID and home renovation experience, so do keep a lookout for them under ‘Our Home’ category on the top navigation bar! ๐Ÿ™‚

In conclusion, 2015 was indeed a fruitful year. ‘Fruitful’ in the sense of gaining fruitful experiences and memories, and hoping to learn from whatever mistakes I have done and not to repeat them again!

Onward to a happier 2016 – which would be a year I would never forget. Getting married and moving into our new home – it is definitely going to be a life-changing moment!!! ๐Ÿ˜€
